Irasville Village Master Plan
Project Overview
The Village Master Planning Steering Committee (VMPSC) is leading the development of a comprehensive Village Master Plan for Waitsfield, Vermont, with a particular focus on the Irasville Village area. The plan aims to increase housing, enhance natural resources, and bolster climate resilience. Key components include assessing current conditions, understanding community perspectives, identifying opportunities for wetland enhancements, and formulating realistic design scenarios for phased revitalization.
In May 2024, the Waitsfield Select Board awarded the contract for this project to the SE Group, a Burlington-based design firm. The project is funded by a $45,000 Municipal Planning Grant, supplemented by a $4,990 local match. The planning process will continue through November 2025, incorporating multiple community engagement and participation opportunities, the first of which will occur on Monday, November 18th.
The VMPSC comprises nine members, including representatives from the Waitsfield Planning Commission and other stakeholders. The committee has been actively collaborating with the SE Group, holding working sessions to discuss various aspects of the plan.
