Planning & Zoning
The Town of Waitsfield Planning & Zoning Department oversees short and long range planning efforts as well as issuance of Zoning Permits, Conditional Use Permits, and Subdivision Permits. The Town Planning & Zoning Administrator oversees the day to day operations of the office, issues permits, and communicates with the Planning Commission and Development Review Board on planning efforts and project referrals. Planning Commission
The Planning Commission meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, 7:00 p.m., at the Waitsfield Town Office (or remotely via Zoom). All meeting agendas, minutes, and meeting packets can be found on their page.
Development Review Board
The Development Review Board ordinarily meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, 7:00 p.m., at the Waitsfield Town Office (or remotely via Zoom). All meeting agendas, minutes, and meeting packets can be found on their page.
Permit Applications
Applications for a zoning permit, subdivision approval, sign permit, curb cut, certificate of occupancy, etc. can be obtained at the Waitsfield Town Office or downloaded from the permit applications page.
Zoning Permits & Hearing Notices
Permit applications issued within the past 14 days (for administrative decisions) and 30 days (for DRB decisions) and notices for upcoming public hearings are available at the town office for review.
E-911 Address Assignment
E-911 addresses are assigned by the municipality’s E-911 Coordinator as part of a statewide standardized emergency service program. E-911 addresses should be assigned to all buildings and locations, both private and public, that are frequently occupied or utilized, An E-911 address must be assigned before a zoning permit may be issued for the construction of a new residence. The Planning & Zoning Administrator serves as the Town’s E-911 Coordinator.
