The EPA Lead and Copper Rules Revision required the Town of Waitsfield to complete a service line inventory (SLI) to access whether there are any lead pipes within the water distribution system.
The Town hired Otter Creek Engineering to manage the SLI and during this spring and summer they reached out to property owners connected to the Waitsfield Community Water System. We appreciate property owners’ participation in this lead monitoring program.
The results of the inventory found all the 196 connected potable and non-potable distribution lines to be non-lead, these results were submitted to the State Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division which reviewed and approved the inventory on August 9th, 2024.
The Town will be updating the inventory for the State every 3 years and will also include an update in the Annual Consumer Confidence Report. Please contact wateradmin@gmavt.net for further information.
